About Caroline Wesseling Landscapes
Caroline comes from a gardening background, beginning with “hands on” garden maintenance for a large number of clients in central and eastern Auckland.
Her business has grown and developed over the years to include consultation, landscape design, planting plans, installation and maintenance of her gardens.
The team has a wide range of talents gained from various landscape diplomas, degrees and practical hands on gardening experience.
As principle designer and owner Caroline creates gardens for a wide range of design briefs, from inner city courtyards, poolscapes and family gardens to large scale lifestyle properties.
She incorporates simplicity of design with strong garden structure, using plants suitable for the soil type and climate and styles sympathetic to New Zealand architecture and environmental conditions.
With experience in both design and maintenance, her work is not only creative but practical as well with imaginative ideas for outdoor living.
Please see the Services page for details on aspects of landscape design that are available.
Landscape Design Philosophy
With every project Caroline’s philosophy of practice is to provide an innovative design solution that achieves the clients needs, reflects their own personality and suits the site conditions and architecture of the house.
Elements that Caroline believes contribute to a successful garden design include an emphasis on strong structure, using complimentary materials for hard landscaping and a range of compatible plants to manipulate spaces.
Her work is influenced by her love of travel and the gardens she has visited over the years.
Tailor Made Gardens
Caroline is passionate about every garden design she undertakes and strives to create a personal haven for her clients.
Caroline feels it is important that clients get a garden they feel comfortable in and have a strong emotional response to, giving them a “tailor made” garden that looks good all year round, just for them.
“A garden is a place of refuge in which to retreat from the rest of the world and relax.”
